I am a freelance translator and proofreader with over 15 years of experience in translating texts from German to English. I specialise in the IT services field, marketing and sales, history (especially military), tourism and travel, and Chinese medicine. Although originally from the UK, I have lived in Germany since January 2002. I am interested in creative writing and have completed three novels and am currently writing my fourth. I have also written a number of fantasy short stories, of which two have been published. I am also interested in travelling, cycling and reading. I have lived large periods of my life abroad, especially in Asia. It was in India that I met my future wife who is German. Afterwards, we lived many years in Berlin before recently moving south.

After my experience of teaching Tibetan monks, I decided to complete a CELTA course at The Berlin School of English in August 2005, which I passed. Since then I have worked teaching English to adults in several language schools in Berlin, as well as teaching various students on a one-to-one basis. I now work freelance for several corporate, as well as private customers, including Metrinomics GmbH, doing English transcriptions and proofreading as well as translations and proofreading for the AGTCM and TCM Rothenburg. In addition, I now work as a part-time in-house English translator for the software company estos GmbH in Starnberg.

I now live in Starnberg in Bavaria, famous for its large lake and stunning views of the Alps, along with my family.
